Sarah LaBruce is the newest attorney at Surratt Thompson & Ceberio having joined the firm in late 2017. She is a native of South Carolina and recently relocated to Winston Salem.
Sarah’s interest in the law began after graduating from the College of Charleston and working for the firm of Monckton, Hembree and Humphries in her home town of Myrtle Beach SC, prior to attending law school. While there she worked on civil and criminal cases along with any other litigation matters brought to the firm. She found that helping people work through their legal issues was the career path she wanted to take.
Sarah graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law with a juris doctorate in 2016. While in law school she was a member of the Pro Bono Board, a certified Juvenile Arbitrator, a Guardian ad Litem, peer mentor, and law school ambassador. After graduation, she served a year-long clerkship under the Honorable R. Markley Dennis, Jr., a Circuit Court judge based in Charleston County, South Carolina. During her clerkship, Sarah was able to experience countless cases from the Judicial perspective and her love of the courtroom continued to grow.
Sarah takes much pride and joy in getting to know and helping her clients. Her experience is mostly with civil litigation but she also enjoys working in other areas of the law including estate planning, guardianships, and other general legal matters. Her ultimate goal is to help her clients in the best way possible. She enjoys that being an attorney allows her to meet a new group of people every day with diverse problems that she can work towards solving.
Away from work, Sarah spends her time with fiancé, Winston-Salem native, Kristopher Keiser and planning a June 2018 wedding. Sarah loves cooking and spending time outside, and getting to relax on the beach whenever possible. While she is a die hard South Carolina Gamecock fan, she also enjoys attending Demon Deacon football and basketball games.
